Happy 5th Birthday, George!

Ever since Emeline arrived, George's world was rocked a bit.  You see, he is and always will be the baby in the family.  This dog loves to be babied like no other I've seen.  He often plays the 'baby card' as we say, when he can and snuggles in for cuddles and kisses in the most inopportune times.  Don't think for one second this dog has been forgotten or gets any less attention than he used to - he is a part of everything we do and we have Mommy George-y time often.  One of my favorite moments of every day is when we get in bed at night and he snuggles in just perfectly next to my stomach.  No one can cuddle like George can.  He's the ultimate cuddler and the sweetest dog I've ever loved. 

George loves toys - all of his toys, but his favorite continues to be his beloved Mr. Squirrel. Oskar and now Emeline are his best friends.  The loyalty and love this dog shows our family is pretty remarkable.  Oskar is our protector and George is our lover.  George has a huge heart and incredible patience.  Both of which are characteristics that have made him Emeline's best bud.  I think George is the reason why she loves dogs so much.  Don't get me wrong, she loves Oskar too and chases him around giggling, but he's just not as patient and forgiving as her baby George. 

Emeline, my mom and I took George out for his birthday traditions and it was quite funny to compare the way Oskar acted verses George on the same doggy adventure.  At the bakery, Oskar was so excited he pooped on the floor (it's kind of a problem of his - no stories needed), but other than that he was perfect.  George was a well-behaved calm dog outside of the home, but at home he is the louder of the two.  At the dog park, Oskar stayed with Emeline and I a bit and we all sat on a blanket and played, but as soon as I told him to go play, he was off.  George on the other hand, never left my side and just posed for my pictures (that's my boy!).  I guess my point is, George doesn't know a life outside of Oskar and they rarely (as you can imagine) spend time apart, so George didn't know what to do without his brother there.  Poor guy, I guess from now on I'll have to make a point and bring both dogs for George's birthday celebrations. 

Baby George, we love you to pieces and you are such an important part of our family.  My days would never be complete without your love.  Happy 5th Birthday baby boy!

Emeline's Quirks, Sillies and Milestones - 14 Months

...love being chased...

...love being scared, so we scare you every chance we get!  Now you have caught on and try and scare us too...

...love to turn in circles to dance...

...say 'weee' every time we dance and twirl in a circle, drive in your car, swing in a swing or really do anything with movement.  Everything we do becomes a fun ride...

...put shapes in their corresponding holes.  This has become your new favorite toy and we play constantly...

...favorite TV show is Doc Mc Stuffins - it's the only thing you really show interest in watching...

...love shoes.  You play with shoes, can say 'shoes' and point to people's shoes and say 'shoes'.  You have a slight obession!...

...you and I walk hand-in-hand everywhere we go now.  It melts my heart...

...anytime something is loud, you put your pointer finger up to your mouth and say 'shh'. You also tell the dogs 'shh' when they bark...

...your sweet kisses are back!  You blow kisses, smack air kisses, give open mouth kisses and even give real kisses.  Oh how I love your kisses...

...you point to everything and say, 'this', 'that', and 'there'.  You are VERY curious about the world around you...

...words of the month - 'shoes', 'bubble', 'dog, 'that' and 'there'...

...you now have 9 teeth...
...you can now sign 'please' and 'thank you'...

...this month you got your first haircut...

...we visited your birthmom and met your birth grandma, birth grandpa, birth aunts and birth great grandma.  Oh how they love you too...

Emeline's Quirks, Sillies and Milestones - 13 Months

...honk noses as if saying hello to everyone you meet...

...never met a stranger...

...pretend to wash your face, brush your hair and brush your teeth as I sing 'Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush'...

...roar like a lion in a sweet whisper when I ask 'what does a lion say?'...

...know where your belly, eyes, mouth, nose and ears are...

...love to giggle at anything and nothing at all...

...are my little piglet; always eating...

...point to everything and say 'this' as if asking what something is - we do this 100 times a day and it never gets old...

...can feed yourself with a fork or spoon if food is already on it...

...have a raspy, sweet voice and a deep giggle...

...current obsession - your cars (cozy coupe and Chicco ride-on car)...

...love Musikgarten (your weekly music class)...

...wave at everyone you see...

...babble all day, every day - it's the sweetest sound in the world...

...always smiling and being silly - you have a knack for making people laugh...

...love to be the center of attention.  at music class you stand in the center of the room instead of sitting in Mommy's lap, so everyone can sing to YOU...

...love to swing - we swing about 4 times a day...
