Beaver Creek 2012

So, I'm way behind on documenting our life, but when you have this precious face to stare at all day...

How can you focus on anything else??

On August 30th, we left for Beaver Creek, Colorado.  It was our very first family vacation and at only 11 weeks old, it was Emeline's very first plane ride!  She did amazingly well.
Cuddled with Dad
Cuddled with Mom
Watched tennis
And finally fell asleep all before takeoff!
Her demeanor the rest of the trip was no different.  She was an easy-going, go-with-the-flow, adventure seeker of a baby.  She even logged in ~14 hiking miles at only 11 weeks old.  We had an unbelievable time in Colorado breathing in the fresh air, spending quality time as a family and making memories we will never forget.

We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch.  Couldn't recommend this place any more.  It's a little slice of Heaven on Earth.

Relaxing with Mom
Dinner at Blue Moose in Beaver Creek - great pizza!
Giggles with Dad on the balcony while we enjoy some coffee.
The start of hike #1
She slept the whole way up the mountain.

Deep sleep - eyes and mouth open!

Made it to the top only to find bad weather.

Sunny skies minutes later .  Weather can change drastically and quickly in Colorado we soon learned!

Emeline was squealing and talking happily the whole way down the mountain.   I think she likes the outdoors as much as her mommy and daddy!

Completed hike #1 - ~7 miles!

Back to the resort for some well-deserved yummy hamburgers!

Busy day - now we are at Oktoberfest in Beaver Creek!

 Eme made a friend.

Awesome Bon Jovi cover band!

Hike #2!  It was my goal to carry her this time and we did it!

We made it up to this mountain to find this magical place.
We stayed, took some pictures, relaxed and had a picnic lunch.  This day was pretty much a dream.  If I could choose my perfect day, this would be it.

I'm going to take a photo of our feet in a beautiful location every time we travel from here on out.

Sweetest baby ever.  She stared at me and played with my shirt the entire hike
Another 7 mile hike completed!

The next day was Labor Day.  We left the resort and our first stop was Vail!

And now on to Breckenridge!  We took a gondola to the top of the mountain.

And we found what felt like another world.  It was an entire area for kids or wanna be kids like us!

Kris on the slide.  It started raining before I got the chance to go, but he had a blast!

The Ritz valet guys wrecked our car the night before.  A now, funny story!
We celebrated our anniversary a little early!  It's actually tomorrow!!
A scrumptious dinner in Denver before we flew out the next morning.
 Breakfast at Spago

Our first family vacation was one we will never forget!  All three of us have an incredible time and we will be back to Beaver Creek soon!  It was a special time and we made memories as a family that we will carry with us for a lifetime.
